Israeli Prosecution Prepares Charges in Benyahu Razi Murder Case After Three Weeks

About three weeks after the murder of 19-year-old Benyahu Razi in Jerusalem's Nahalat neighborhood, Israeli prosecutors are preparing to file indictments against eight suspects. The suspects include a minor accused of stabbing, Razi's ex-partner, and the mother of the main suspect. Razi was fatally stabbed during a premeditated attack on the night of July 11-12 at a rented apartment on Shirazli Street. Several youths armed with weapons assaulted Razi and his friend, who was lightly injured.

Following the murder, police arrested six suspects, some minors, and extended their detention multiple times for investigation. Additional arrests included David Keren and a 16-year-old girl, with courts approving continued detention. Police also conducted a manhunt for Avi'or Sasson, who was suspected of fleeing the scene and hiding in various locations.

Investigations suggest the attack was planned due to a dispute involving Razi and his ex-partner. Authorities believe some suspects coordinated the assault by summoning the youths, while others participated directly. All suspects deny the allegations. After completing the investigation and filing the prosecution's statement, formal indictments detailing the charges and requests for continued detention will be submitted.
