Mother of Murdered Benyahu Razi Details Long-Term Abuse and Calls for Justice

The mother of Benyahu Razi, who was murdered in the Nahalat neighborhood, spoke out during a court hearing on August 4, 2026, regarding the suspects in the case: Agam Tzarfati, Shilat Huta, and Linor Sasson. She described a prolonged period of threats, harassment, and abuse that her son endured, particularly from his former partner, Agam Tzarfati. Initially, the family had a good relationship with Tzarfati, but it deteriorated as Razi became trapped in a toxic and manipulative relationship. The mother recounted incidents including late-night calls, verbal abuse, vandalism, and threats of stabbing. She emphasized that despite filing complaints and warnings to the police, the murder was not prevented.

The mother expressed trust in the current investigative team but lamented that earlier intervention might have saved her son. She insisted that all involved should be charged with premeditated murder, citing the organized nature of the crime, including renting a house and coordinating the attack, which was even broadcast live. She rejected the suspects' claims about the circumstances leading to the meeting, calling them lies aimed at tarnishing her son's name.

Benyahu's brother described him as a kind and giving person who helped soldiers, patients, and people in distress. The family highlighted his generosity, including distributing Purim gifts to soldiers and caring for a friend with medical needs.

Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended the detention of the three suspects until Friday, when formal charges will be filed. The court noted the high danger posed by the suspects. During the hearing, family members shouted at the main suspect, Aviaor Sasson, who was recently captured after a police chase. Defense attorneys for one of the minors involved expressed sorrow but denied direct involvement in the killing. The family demanded that all perpetrators face full justice and remain imprisoned for life.

During the hearing, defense lawyers presented WhatsApp messages allegedly showing threats exchanged between Razi and Tzarfati, including accusations of rape threats and death threats, highlighting the complex and violent nature of their relationship.
