Accused in Benyahu Razi Murder Separated in Jail Amid Family Outrage Over Courtroom Behavior

Agam Tsarfi and Shilat Huta appeared via video link from prison for a hearing on the indictment against them for the murder of Benyahu Razi at the Jerusalem District Court on August 17, 2026. During the hearing, it was revealed that Tsarfi had been transferred to a different prison wing and separated from Huta, after previously being held together. Defense attorney Amit Weitzman questioned Huta about the separation, to which she responded she did not know the reason and that nothing had happened between them.

The indictment alleges that Tsarfi, Huta, and their associates armed themselves with clubs, knives, and a hammer to attack Razi and his friend Matanya. Tsarfi admitted during interrogation that one of the group struck Razi on the head with a hammer. Police investigator Rotem Hila Zaken described how the accused escalated the incident at a third party’s apartment, preparing weapons and organizing the assault. Huta filmed a video during the attack, shouting about the bloodshed.

Benyahu Razi’s uncle, Noam Razi, expressed deep frustration with the authorities, stating that numerous complaints against Tsarfi had been ignored, and a restraining order had been issued only after the situation worsened. He said, "We are here today because this whole matter was not handled in time," and described the accused’s courtroom demeanor as inappropriate, noting they laughed and acted as if on a TikTok broadcast. He also defended Benyahu’s character, denying any violence on his part and accusing Tsarfi of violating the restraining order by coming to the family’s home.

The hearing confirmed that both accused had read and understood the charges against them. The investigation also revealed that Tsarfi threatened a police investigator, stating that if not detained, she would plan another murder. The case continues to unfold as the court proceeds with legal steps.
