Mother of Murdered Benyahu Razi Condemns Defendants’ Requests for Leniency

Following the indictment of six suspects in the murder case of Benyahu Razi, his mother, Dikla Razi, strongly criticized the defendants’ demands for reduced detention conditions. She described enduring insults, mockery, and threats from associates of the accused. During the court hearing, the grandmother of one suspect, Aviaor Shason, reportedly called her deceased son a "dog" and mocked her directly, intensifying the emotional toll on the family. Dikla expressed her anguish, stating, "My son is buried underground and they are asking for benefits. They should rot in prison and never see daylight."

The indictment was filed against six individuals, including Linor Shason, mother of one suspect, Aviaor Shason. While the evidentiary basis was insufficient to charge her with murder, she faces charges of aiding after the fact and obstructing justice. The indictment alleges she drove the suspects to the apartment where the murder occurred and later helped them evade capture, though she denied involvement in the killing itself.

Defense attorneys Idan Gamlielli and Ofer Erlich, representing one of the minor suspects, stated that the indictment depicts an unplanned, tragic event and that their client denies directly causing Benyahu’s death. They emphasized that after reviewing the investigation materials, they will present their arguments in court.

The case remains under judicial review as the court considers the charges and the defense’s forthcoming responses. The emotional impact on the victim’s family continues amid the legal proceedings.
