Trial Begins for Six Accused in Benyahu Razi Murder Case in Jerusalem
The murder case of Benyahu Razi, who was killed in a Jerusalem apartment in the Nahalat neighborhood, has entered a new phase with the opening hearing held on August 17, 2026. The hearing was procedural, with no evidence presented yet. Six suspects are charged in connection with the murder: four minors aged 15 to 17, Agam Tzarfati (19) from Jerusalem, and Shilat Huta (20) from Beersheba. They face charges of intentional murder and aggravated assault. The four minors are also charged with illegal possession of knives and obstruction of justice, while Linor Sasson (46) from Jerusalem is accused of aiding after the fact and obstructing justice.
According to the indictment, Agam Tzarfati had a romantic relationship with the victim, Benyahu Razi. Days before the murder, Tzarfati and Huta rented an Airbnb apartment in Jerusalem and invited Razi and a friend to spend the weekend with them. A dispute arose during their stay, and the two women left the apartment, claiming Razi had been violent toward them. They later told Sasson and the four minors about the incident, prompting the group to plan an attack on Razi and his friend, intending to "finish him off."
The four minors armed themselves with knives, a metal folding axe, a spike, razors, and a meat tenderizer hammer and went to find Razi and his friend. Under the direction of Tzarfati and Huta, they convinced the two men to return to the apartment, where a confrontation occurred. Razi was attacked with the weapons, stabbed in the chest and hand, and collapsed. His friend was also assaulted with the hammer and stabbed in the hand while trying to help. Razi died from a stab wound that pierced his heart. The assailants fled the scene, with Sasson allegedly assisting some of them in escaping. Five suspects were arrested shortly after the incident, and one minor evaded capture for over two weeks before being arrested by Israeli police.
The prosecution has requested that all suspects remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings. The trial will continue with further hearings to examine the evidence and testimonies.
