Israeli Authorities Charge Seven in Murder of Benyahu Razi in Jerusalem

The Israeli State Prosecution filed two indictments on Friday at the Jerusalem District Court against seven suspects involved in the murder of Benyahu Razi and the injury of his friend, an incident that occurred about three weeks ago. The prosecution also requested to extend the suspects' detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings. Among the accused are six individuals, including four minors aged 15 to 17, 19-year-old Agam Tzarfati from Jerusalem, and 20-year-old Shilat Huta from Beersheba, charged with intentional murder and aggravated assault. The four minors also face charges of illegal possession of knives and obstruction of justice. Another suspect, 46-year-old Linor Sasson from Jerusalem, is charged with aiding and abetting after the fact and obstruction of justice.

According to the indictments, Tzarfati had a romantic relationship with Razi. Days before the incident, Tzarfati and Huta rented an Airbnb apartment in Jerusalem and invited Razi and his friend to spend the weekend together. A dispute arose during their stay, after which Tzarfati and Huta left and went to Sasson's home, where they recounted the events to her and the four minors. Following this, the group decided to attack Razi and his friend, expressing intent to "finish him off." The four minors armed themselves with knives and other weapons and sought out the two men. Under the guidance of Tzarfati and Huta, they convinced Razi and his friend to return to the apartment, where a confrontation ensued.

During the attack, Razi was critically wounded and later died from his injuries, while his friend, who tried to assist him, was also injured. The suspects fled the scene afterward. Sasson is accused of helping some suspects escape. Six suspects were arrested shortly after the event, while one minor evaded capture for over two weeks before being apprehended. The Jerusalem District Prosecution emphasized the severe consequences of involving minors and adults in violent crimes, noting the tragic loss of a young life and the enduring pain for his family. The investigation was conducted by the Crime Fighting Unit of the Zion Division in the Jerusalem District, with the support of the Jerusalem District Prosecution.
