Seven Charged in Jerusalem Over Benyahu Razi Murder and Friend’s Injury

The Jerusalem District Prosecutor’s Office filed two indictments on Friday against seven suspects involved in the murder of Benyahu Razi and the injury of his friend. The incident occurred about three weeks ago in Jerusalem. Prosecutors requested that all suspects remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

Among the accused are six individuals, including four minors aged 15 to 17, along with Agam Tzarfati, 19, from Jerusalem, and Shilat Hota, 20, from Beersheba. They face charges of intentional murder and aggravated assault. The four minors are also charged with illegal possession of knives and obstruction of justice. A seventh suspect, Linor Sasson, 46, from Jerusalem, is charged with aiding and abetting after the fact and obstruction of justice.

According to the indictments, Tzarfati had a romantic relationship with Razi. Days before the attack, Tzarfati and Hota rented an Airbnb apartment in Jerusalem and invited Razi and his friend to spend the weekend with them. A dispute erupted during their stay, and the next day, the two women left, claiming Razi had been violent toward them. They later went to Sasson’s home and told her and the four minors about the incident. Following this, the group decided to attack Razi and his friend, stating their intention to "finish him off."

The four minors armed themselves with knives and other weapons and sought out Razi and his friend. Guided by Tzarfati and Hota, they convinced the two men to return to the apartment, where a confrontation ensued. Razi was critically injured and later died from his wounds, while his friend was also assaulted and injured while trying to help him. The suspects fled the scene, with Sasson allegedly assisting some of them in escaping.

Six suspects were arrested shortly after the attack. One minor evaded capture for over two weeks before being apprehended by Israeli police. The investigation was conducted by the Crime Fighting Unit of the Zion District in Jerusalem and supervised by the Jerusalem District Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors expressed sorrow over the loss of Razi, describing him as a young man at the start of his life, and noted the lasting pain his family faces.
