23-Year-Old Eldar Dayan Missing in Tel Aviv After Involvement in Fight

Eldar Dayan, a 23-year-old man, has been missing for over a week following his involvement in a fight in Tel Aviv. His mother, Shilat Dayan, spoke on the Kan 11 program "Glick and Tamar" on Monday, describing the moments before contact with Eldar was lost and expressing deep concern for his safety. Eldar was last seen during the night between Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18. According to Shilat, Eldar and his friends were gathered near Yarkon Park, drinking vodka and Axels, when another group approached and asked to join them. Eldar and his friends refused, leading to an argument that escalated into violence, causing Eldar's friends to disperse in different directions. From that point, Eldar disappeared without a trace, with conflicting accounts from his friends and no notification to his family about his disappearance.

Shilat recounted that she had messaged Eldar earlier that day, informing him she was on her way to Eilat, to which he replied "Okay." Shortly after, all communication ceased, with no messages or signs of contact through social media. The last message Eldar sent was at 2:30 p.m. on Friday to a female friend, now an ex-girlfriend, stating, "There is chaos here, I will finish what I have here and return to the city." The police are investigating the case and have collected testimonies and footage from cameras. Shilat emphasized her worry, noting Eldar always maintained contact via Instagram, even when staying overnight elsewhere, but this time there was no communication despite his Instagram account being active.

She also expressed frustration over the lack of lessons learned from previous cases of child abductions and disappearances in recent years, citing multiple unresolved incidents.
