Two Friends Detained in Search for Missing 23-Year-Old from Dimona After Tel Aviv Fight

A 23-year-old man from Dimona, Eldar (Yitzhak) Dayan, has been missing for over a week following a fight in Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park. Two of his friends were recently arrested and taken in for questioning, with one suspected of involvement in the altercation, though the exact suspicions remain unclear. Eldar left Dimona with a friend but never returned home. His family last heard from him after the fight, when he messaged through his girlfriend saying, "There is chaos here, I will finish what is here and return to the city." Since then, his phone has been unreachable and no signs of life have been received.

Eldar's mother, Shilat, told Kan 11's "Glick and Tamar" program that Eldar and his friends were sitting in Yarkon Park when another group approached and asked to join them. After being refused, a verbal dispute escalated into violence, causing Eldar and his friends to disperse. Conflicting accounts from Eldar's friends have left the family uncertain about what happened next. One friend claimed that Eldar and another friend left the park and parted ways at a nearby Paz gas station.

Eldar's sister was the last to speak with him by phone on July 16, when he mentioned "chaos." The family filed a police report only on the following Friday after realizing he had not returned home or been in contact. Eldar was known to regularly update his family if he stayed elsewhere, but this time no such communication was received. The police confirmed Eldar was last seen in Yarkon Park during the night of July 17-18 and have appealed to the public for information. Anyone with knowledge of Eldar's whereabouts is urged to contact the Israeli police hotline or the Dimona police station.
