Police Investigate Eldar Dayan's Disappearance, Suspect He Is on the Run

Israeli police are actively investigating the disappearance of 23-year-old Eldar Dayan, exploring multiple leads including the possibility of a criminal kidnapping or his involvement in a hit-and-run accident followed by fleeing the scene. Authorities have indicated that the prevailing theory is that Dayan is currently in hiding, with all options remaining open.

A shirt believed to belong to Dayan was found in Petah Tikva, near where the vehicle he was last seen in with friends was located about 12 days ago. Dayan's mother, Shilat Naim, expressed deep concern, stating she fears someone may be holding her son, though police are confident he is alive and have investigative leads supporting this belief.

Meanwhile, the Beersheba Magistrate's Court extended the detention of Maksim Broverman, a friend of Dayan and suspect in the hit-and-run and obstruction of justice case, by six days. Police had requested a ten-day extension, noting discrepancies in Broverman's initial statements and that the investigation is still in its early stages.
