Police Suspect Eldar Dayan's Friends Threatened to Kill Him Before His Disappearance

Israeli police investigating the disappearance of Eldar Dayan, who has been missing for over two weeks, suspect that his friends threatened to kill him shortly before he vanished. Authorities from the Central District are piecing together the events leading up to Dayan's disappearance, focusing on a violent incident involving a fight and a hit-and-run that occurred just before he went missing.

According to the family’s lawyer, Sapir Perdo, new information indicates that the main suspect threatened Dayan’s life, expressing intent to harm him. The suspects’ lawyers deny these allegations. Police also believe Dayan’s friends know his whereabouts and may have attempted to reach his hiding place.

Interrogation transcripts of the primary suspect reveal contradictions about the last moments Dayan was seen, including claims that the suspects abandoned him after fleeing a gas station. Footage from the gas station shows Dayan shirtless, holding two shirts, shortly after the group fled their vehicle in Petah Tikva. A shirt possibly belonging to Dayan was found near the abandoned car.

Dayan’s family fears for his safety and stresses that he is not wanted for questioning. Police continue extensive searches to solve the mystery of his disappearance.
