Police Find Two Helmets Linked to Missing Eldar Dayan and Friends in Petah Tikva

Israeli police have located two helmets near the last known location of Eldar Dayan in Petah Tikva, believed to belong to him and two friends. The trio reportedly fled the scene after being seen at a gas station, where they were equipped with the helmets. The search continues as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding Dayan's disappearance.

The case began early on the day of Dayan's disappearance when he and two friends, Maxim and Omri, were involved in an initial altercation in Hod Hasharon. Later, they met with five other youths, and a dispute over a handshake escalated into a physical fight, during which Dayan punched one individual. Police noted Dayan's role was minor at this stage.

Following the fight, Omri and Maxim allegedly attempted to run someone over with a car, then picked up Dayan and drove to a gas station. Witnesses said the three were at the station before removing the vehicle's license plate and fleeing on foot into an open area. Omri's statement that they split up contradicts eyewitness accounts that they ran together.

Police have cleared Dayan of driving without a license. A consultation with the prosecution regarding charges related to the fight is scheduled for Wednesday, with the investigation expected to conclude this week. Meanwhile, the Dimona police station continues the search, with a large-scale operation planned for the following day to locate Eldar Dayan.
