Police Reveal New Details in Eldar Yitzhak Dayan's Disappearance Case

The investigation into the disappearance of Eldar Yitzhak Dayan, missing since July 18, has uncovered new details about the events leading up to his vanishing. Early on the day of his disappearance, Eldar and two friends, Maxim and Omri, arrived in Hod Hasharon where a fight broke out among them. After Maxim and Omri left and then returned to pick up Eldar, the trio later met with five young men of Ethiopian descent, some of whom Eldar knew. A dispute over a handshake escalated into a physical altercation, during which Eldar punched one of the men. Police noted Eldar's involvement was minor.

Following the fight, Omri and Maxim allegedly attempted to run someone over with a car, with Omri driving Maxim's vehicle. They then picked up Eldar and drove to a gas station where witnesses say the car's license plate was removed. The three were seen running together toward an open area, contradicting Omri's claim that they split up and ran separately. Additionally, the investigation revealed that Maxim allegedly threatened to kill Eldar, information provided by others involved in the fight.

Authorities have cleared Eldar of driving without a license and expect to consult with the prosecution on Wednesday regarding charges related to the fight. The investigation is anticipated to conclude this week with indictments. Meanwhile, the Dimona police station continues the search for Eldar, with a large-scale search operation planned for the following day in an effort to locate him.
