Police Close In on Missing Eldar Dayan, Release Latest Footage from Gas Station
Israeli police announced on Wednesday evening that investigators are nearing the location of Eldar Dayan, a 23-year-old man from Dimona who has been missing since mid-July. Authorities released the last known footage of Dayan at a gas station, captured shortly before his disappearance. A police source told Kan News, "We are closing in on him and may reach him very soon," suggesting that Dayan went into hiding after driving without a license and injuring a friend lightly in an accident.
Dayan was last seen in Tel Aviv during the night between July 17 and 18. He sent a message to his partner mentioning "chaos," referring to a fight he was involved in near Yarkon Park. Earlier on Wednesday, police arrested two additional suspects in central Israel on suspicion of involvement in the altercation preceding Dayan's disappearance and for allegedly obstructing the investigation by withholding information.
Police also conducted a raid on an apartment in central Israel overnight but found no significant evidence. The investigation continues as authorities seek to locate Dayan and clarify the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and the related incidents.
