Police Probe Eldar Dayan's Disappearance Amid Hit-and-Run and Possible Kidnapping Suspicions

Eldar Dayan, 23, has been missing for 13 days, with police investigating whether his disappearance is linked to a hit-and-run accident or a criminal kidnapping. Authorities suspect Dayan was involved in a hit-and-run and has been hiding rather than completely severing contact. Two of Dayan's friends were arrested and had their detention extended for six days on charges of obstruction of justice and conspiracy, as their accounts conflicted with evidence, including blood found in their vehicle that is being tested to determine if it belongs to Dayan.

Dayan was last seen at a convenience store in Petah Tikva on a Friday morning before being declared missing. A shirt possibly belonging to him was found near the location where the friends' car was discovered. Police consider all possibilities open and believe Dayan is alive and in hiding. His mother, Shilat Naim, who traveled from Eilat to follow the investigation, confronted one of the main suspects in a recorded phone call, urging him to come to the police station and explain the whereabouts of her son's clothes and the events surrounding his disappearance.

The investigation revealed that the group had stayed at a hotel in Tel Aviv and later went to Park HaYarkon, where a fight broke out with another group. Police are examining whether this altercation led to a kidnapping attempt or another criminal incident. The mother expressed deep concern, questioning how Dayan's friends could sleep peacefully while he remains missing. Police emphasize the case's complexity and continue to pursue all leads to locate Dayan and clarify the circumstances of his disappearance.
