Two More Arrested in Eldar Dayan Disappearance Case Amid Suspected Hit-and-Run

Two additional young men were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the disappearance of 23-year-old Eldar Dayan. Authorities believe Dayan and his friends were involved in a fight during which they allegedly tried to run over the other party. The exact circumstances remain unclear and are under investigation.

The case, initially treated as a missing person report, has escalated into a criminal investigation with suspicions that Dayan is involved in a hit-and-run incident or another criminal act. Police are also exploring the possibility of a criminal kidnapping. Dayan has been missing for 13 days, and police believe he is alive and currently evading capture based on recent indications.

During the search efforts, a shirt possibly belonging to Dayan was found in Petah Tikva near the location where the vehicle he and his friends used was discovered about ten days ago. Meanwhile, a Beersheba court extended the detention of two of Dayan's friends by six days. They face charges of conspiracy to commit a crime and non-cooperation with authorities.

Bloodstains found in the vehicle are being tested to determine if they belong to Dayan. Police noted that the suspects' statements contradicted physical evidence and that they withheld information from both the police and Dayan's family for nearly two weeks. The group had been at a hotel in Tel Aviv before going to Yarkon Park, where the fight broke out. Investigators are examining whether the altercation led to an attempted kidnapping or another criminal event.

Despite many unanswered questions, police continue to pursue all leads and emphasize that the investigation remains open to multiple possibilities.
