Friend of Missing Israeli Man Eldar Dayan Recalled for Contradictory Testimony in Ongoing Investigation
Eldar Dayan, a 22-year-old from Dimona, has been missing since last Friday after a night out in Tel Aviv. Dayan went out with two friends, but his whereabouts have been unknown since then. The police summoned one of his friends for a second interrogation due to conflicting accounts he provided regarding their movements. Initially, the friend claimed they had been near Yarkon Park, but security footage disproved this, showing they were not in that area.
Dayan’s mother, Shilat Na'im, who traveled from Eilat to follow the investigation, revealed that new information suggests Dayan was last seen at a convenience store in Petah Tikva on Friday morning. Despite ongoing police searches and canine units combing the central Israel region, Dayan remains missing. Na'im expressed deep distress, pleading for any information from the public and questioning how her son’s friends could return home calmly while he vanished.
The police have not yet decided whether to extend the detention of the friend under investigation. The family is particularly concerned about inconsistencies surrounding the last known location at a gas station and hopes the investigation will yield answers soon. Na'im implored the public to come forward with any details that could help locate her son, emphasizing her emotional turmoil and desperation for news.
