Benyahu Malat Killed in Shooting Attack Near Givat Gilad Settlement
Benyahu Malat, 32, a resident of the Givat Gilad settlement and a member of its security team, was killed in a shooting attack near the community. Malat, who was responsible for agriculture in the settlement, went out to assist a group of hikers who were attacked in the area and was fatally shot by terrorists. He is survived by his wife Esther and their two daughters, aged 12 and 13. Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council, eulogized Malat as a true hero who fought to save lives, recalling his efforts during a fire incident on Shabbat and now in this attack.
