Massive Search Continues for Missing 4-Year-Old Yuval Kogen in Ashkelon Beach Area

Israeli police, supported by aerial units, marine patrols, volunteers, and divers, are conducting extensive searches for 4-year-old Yuval Kogen, who has been missing since yesterday afternoon near Hof Hofit beach in Ashkelon. Authorities are investigating all leads after receiving differing accounts from Yuval's parents. The search operation covers air, sea, and land, utilizing advanced technology and coordinated efforts along the coastline and surrounding areas. Southern District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Haim Bublil has ordered the deployment of all available forces until Yuval is found.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the search site, met with Yuval's parents, and pledged unwavering commitment to finding the boy. Yuval's mother, Dina, appealed for an expanded search, expressing fears that her son may have been abducted and emphasizing the urgency as a matter of life or death. She recounted that Yuval disappeared within minutes while exploring bushes during a family picnic, noting that he cannot swim and is afraid of water, making drowning unlikely.

ZAKA Ashkelon commander Meir Buskila described a full night of intensive searching by dozens of volunteers alongside emergency services, with efforts intensifying at dawn and additional resources deployed. The Ashkelon municipality, led by Mayor Tomer Glam and Police Station Commander Superintendent Eldad Elishiv, called on the public to join the search on foot, emphasizing safety and coordination by prohibiting motorized vehicles and instructing participants to follow official directions.

Knesset Member Dovey Biton (Yesh Atid) expressed solidarity with Yuval's family, urged anyone with relevant information to contact the police immediately, and thanked security forces and volunteers for their dedication. The Israel Police continue to update the public and request vigilance, asking anyone with information to call emergency number 100 or the Ashkelon police station.
