Israeli Authorities Intensify Search for Missing 4-Year-Old Boy in Ashkelon Amid Kidnapping Fears

Israeli security forces have renewed their search efforts for 4-year-old Yuval Kogan, who disappeared yesterday afternoon during a family outing at the northern beach of Ashkelon. The search involves the Israel Police, Shin Bet security service, special IDF units, maritime police, and volunteers. Yuval was last seen around 12:30 PM near the dunes while picnicking with his father and two older sisters, but went missing after a brief moment when his father lost sight of him for three to four minutes.

Yuval's mother, Dina Kogan, a pediatrician, expressed deep concern that her son may have been kidnapped, possibly for nationalist reasons. She urged authorities to immediately activate a full kidnapping protocol, emphasizing the urgency by stating, "A 4-year-old child missing for so long without his parents is in immediate danger of life." She also highlighted that the area where Yuval disappeared is not a place a child could wander far alone, and noted that Yuval was afraid of water, making it unlikely he would have gone near the sea.

Security cameras captured the last footage of Yuval with his father and sisters at the beach. Despite extensive searches including helicopter sweeps and maritime patrols, no trace of Yuval has been found. Dina Kogan called for broader search strategies beyond the current search zone, warning that the situation is critical and requires nationwide attention and resources. The family continues to appeal for public assistance and intensified emergency response as the search enters a crucial phase.
