Inter Milan Explores Top Defender Alternatives After Anan Khalaily Transfer Falls Through

Inter Milan has resumed its search for a defender following the collapse of Anan Khalaily's transfer due to failed medical tests. The Italian club had initially agreed on Khalaily's move, but now is considering over 20 alternative players, including notable names such as England international Jed Spence from Tottenham, Feyenoord's Gaviario Reid, and Monaco's Wanderson. Another prominent candidate is Nahuel Molina, the 28-year-old Argentine World Cup winner currently playing for Atletico Madrid.

Jed Spence is valued at around 30 million euros, having joined Tottenham two years ago for the same amount. Gaviario Reid is estimated at 25 million euros and is regarded as a key player for Feyenoord, while Molina's market value stands at approximately 15 million euros. The potential acquisitions could impact Khalaily's prospects, as his current club, Saint-Étienne, has indicated willingness to sell him for 25 million euros to any league outside Italy, suggesting a possible domino effect.

Inter also explored options like Gaël Doué from Strasbourg, brother of Desire Doué, and Julian Ryerson from Borussia Dortmund, but both were rejected due to high costs. Meanwhile, the club may retain Benjamin Pavard, who was loaned to Marseille last season. The ongoing search reflects Inter's urgent need to strengthen its defense after Khalaily's transfer fell through.
