Italian Medical Tests Block Anan Khalaily's Serie A Transfer

Anan Khalaily's anticipated transfer to Serie A officially collapsed on Monday after he failed Italy's stringent medical examinations. Although Khalaily successfully passed Inter Milan's medical tests, he did not clear the additional cardiological screenings mandated by the Italian Olympic Committee, which operates under a particularly strict cardiac protocol. This committee's requirements are independent of the football clubs, and their decision ultimately prevented the transfer.

Medical sources in Italy explained that since the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination campaigns, such cardiac findings have become more common, with about one in every three to four players showing similar results that require further investigation. This additional scrutiny led to the cancellation of Khalaily's move.

Prior to Inter Milan's interest, both AC Milan and Napoli had also considered signing Khalaily. However, due to the failed tests by the Olympic Committee, no Serie A club will be able to sign him, including those previously interested. Khalaily had already been flown to Italy on a private jet and was close to finalizing the deal before the medical issues arose.
