IDF Golani Brigade Kills Hezbollah Terrorist Who Killed Captain David Hazut in South Lebanon Clash

The Israel Defense Forces announced that soldiers from the Golani Brigade eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist in South Lebanon who was responsible for the death of Captain David Hazut and the injury of another soldier during a fierce nighttime encounter near the village of Deir Sirian. The incident occurred between Saturday night and Sunday morning when Golani troops were conducting searches for suspected Hezbollah forward positions in the eastern sector of South Lebanon.

During the operation, the troops encountered an armed Hezbollah militant who opened fire at close range. Captain Hazut, the team commander, was fatally wounded in the exchange, and another soldier was lightly injured and evacuated for medical treatment. The terrorist fled the scene under cover of darkness and terrain.

Following the initial clash, commanders dispatched additional forces to encircle the area and conduct aggressive searches to prevent the militant's escape deeper into Lebanese territory. After extensive operations, the Golani soldiers located the terrorist hiding in a nearby building close to the original confrontation site. They opened fire and killed him, completing a rapid and decisive response to the attack that claimed Captain Hazut's life.
