IDF Kills Hezbollah Terrorist Who Killed Captain David Hazut in South Lebanon Clash
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated the Hezbollah terrorist responsible for the attack in which Captain David Hazut was killed and another soldier was lightly wounded. The incident occurred during a rapid closure operation in southern Lebanon. On Sunday night, Golani Brigade combat troops encountered the Hezbollah militant while searching for a suspect in the Deir Siran area of southern Lebanon. After extensive searches, the terrorist was located in a building near the initial clash site and was neutralized by IDF forces.
Captain David Hazut, 21, from Ashkelon, served as a platoon commander in the Golani Brigade's 12th Battalion. Hazut fell during the confrontation, and footage released hours after his death showed him with his soldiers at the conclusion of their Golani training about two and a half years earlier, during the brown beret ceremony.
The operation reflects the IDF's swift response to the attack that resulted in the loss of one of its officers and the injury of another soldier, underscoring ongoing tensions and military activity in the border region with Lebanon.
