IDF Captain David Hazutt Killed in South Lebanon Clash
Captain David Hazutt, 21, from Ashkelon and a platoon commander in the Golani Brigade's 12th Battalion, was killed in combat in South Lebanon. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM near the village of Deir Siran, close to Saluki, when a Golani Brigade combat team encountered a militant who opened fire from inside a building. Hazutt was shot and killed, and another soldier was lightly injured. Following the attack, the IDF forces neutralized the militant and continued firing towards the area from which the attack originated. The Israeli Defense Minister described the agreement with Lebanon as a historic event in the context of this incident.
