IDF Says It Killed Hezbollah Operatives in Southern Lebanon Operations

The IDF said that during ongoing operational activity in southern Lebanon on Thursday, troops identified Hezbollah militants who posed an immediate threat and killed them in separate incidents. According to the military, the action was part of continued proactive efforts to remove threats in the security zone.

In one incident, soldiers from the Golani Brigade combat team, operating under the 36th Division, spotted five Hezbollah operatives in the Zotar al-Sharqiya area. The army said they threatened forces deployed in the forward defense area.

In a parallel event, fighters from the Commando Brigade operating on the Ali Tahar ridge identified an armed Hezbollah operative who also endangered Israeli forces. The IDF said Air Force aircraft struck the militants, while ground troops simultaneously opened fire.

The military said the operatives were killed and the threat was removed. It added that the brigade continues to operate decisively on the Ali Tahar ridge, maintaining a complete blockade of the area to prevent Hezbollah operatives from emerging from underground infrastructure or moving around the ridge. The IDF said it would not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or security forces and would keep acting to eliminate immediate threats in the sector.
