IDF Kills Hezbollah Militants in Southern Lebanon Amid Ongoing Security Operations

During the night between Friday and Saturday, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killed several Hezbollah militants in the Ali Taher ridge area in southern Lebanon. The clash resulted in a medium injury to an IDF combat officer, who was evacuated for medical treatment and whose family was informed. According to the IDF spokesperson, troops identified the militants within the security zone and neutralized them to eliminate threats to forces operating in the area.

This incident is part of a series of recent IDF operational activities in southern Lebanon, where the 91st Division continues to locate and destroy Hezbollah weapons caches, including rockets, anti-tank missiles, explosives, firearms, and grenades. Concurrently, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, during a visit to southern Lebanon, emphasized that the IDF will not withdraw from captured territories until long-term security for northern Israeli residents is ensured. He stated, "If required, we will deepen our operations and reach additional areas."

The IDF spokesperson reiterated that the military will persist in removing all threats to its forces and will prevent Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians. These operations are part of a systematic effort to clear the security zone of terrorist infrastructure and prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities. The ongoing intensive operations include locating and destroying tunnels, command centers, and weaponry, while maintaining high readiness for various scenarios.
