Overnight Thursday into Friday, and again earlier in the day, the IDF struck more than 80 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, saying the attacks were a response to what it called serious violations of the ceasefire by the group. The strikes came after four soldiers were killed overnight.
Among the targets were two Hezbollah headquarters in the Bekaa area, where militants were operating. The military also hit additional command posts, launch positions and other terror infrastructure in the Nabatieh area and in several other locations in the security zone and beyond it in southern Lebanon. The IDF said dozens of Hezbollah operatives were killed in the attacks while operating from the struck sites.
The army said it is continuing operations in the security zone in southern Lebanon, with a focus on destroying the strategic underground network Hezbollah built over years in the Beaufort area. During the night, forces also identified Hezbollah rocket fire at troops operating in southern Lebanon, killed two militants who fled on a motorcycle from the launch area, and then struck and destroyed the launcher used in the attack.
