IDF says it hit more than 70 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon in 24 hours
The IDF said on Saturday night that it continued an intensive offensive against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, striking more than 70 of the group’s facilities over the past day. The targets included rocket launchers, buildings used to advance terror plots, and positions that posed a direct threat to IDF forces and northern Israeli communities.
The strikes were carried out in close coordination between the air force and ground troops operating in the area. Alongside the destruction of infrastructure, fighters identified in the field were also killed. The army said the combined operation allows precise identification and neutralization of threats in real time while avoiding harm to civilians.
The IDF said that over the past week, the air force had struck about 310 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, as part of a broader campaign that also included focused ground activity. In that period, about 80 terrorists were killed and hundreds of terror infrastructure sites were destroyed.
The army also said troops from the 551st Brigade, under the command of the 91st Division, were working to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure and eliminate operatives. During the past week, they identified two cells of seven Hezbollah members operating from an underground route in southern Lebanon that was used to store ammunition, mortars, and food supplies for attacks on IDF forces. With air force, artillery, and drone support, all seven were killed, and Kalashnikov rifles, military gear, launch positions, and additional weapons were found and destroyed nearby. Separately, the 769th Brigade recently completed an operation in the village of Debin, about 12 kilometers inside Lebanon, where more than 30 terrorists were killed and dozens of military sites were destroyed. The IDF said operations will continue as long as the threat to Israeli civilians and troops remains.
