The Israel Defense Forces said Friday that it has recently killed 11 Hezbollah field commanders who were directing the group's fighters against Israeli troops and the State of Israel. The military said these were among Hezbollah's most important field commanders eliminated in the latest wave of strikes.

Among those named was the commander of the Nasr unit, Haj Salaama. Less than two months after he was killed, the IDF said it struck both of his replacements in sequence, Mahdi Bazzi and Ashraf Saloum. In another case, within less than 12 hours, the army killed the commander of the Shakif sector, Nasser Shakir, and then his replacement, Ahmad Sbalini, who had previously served as his deputy before being appointed to succeed him.

The IDF also identified other senior field commanders killed recently as Ali Abbas, commander of the Bint Jbeil sector; Kamil Younes, commander of the Tyre sector; Fouad Musa, commander of the Hajir sector; Hussein Salami, commander of the Jebsheet sector; Ali Haikh, commander of the Al-Khiyam sector; and Moslem Harb, commander of the Qana sector.

An IDF spokesman said, "The IDF will continue to strike Hezbollah terrorists, who are directly responsible for directing fire at the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces."
