The IDF said Thursday night that four soldiers were killed when an explosive drone hit the village of Tibnin in southern Lebanon. The military identified the strike as coming from Hezbollah activity and said the incident occurred after repeated violations of the ceasefire.
In response, the IDF carried out very heavy fire throughout the night in Tibnin and other areas of southern Lebanon. It said it used airstrikes and artillery to intensify the attacks, targeting Hezbollah operatives and terror infrastructure across several locations.
An IDF spokesperson said, “The IDF attacked throughout the night and continues to attack terrorists and Hezbollah terror infrastructure in several areas in southern Lebanon. The attacks were carried out after repeated violations of the ceasefire by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.”
The army also told residents of northern border communities that the night had been “extremely difficult” because of serious breaches of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah. It said it was forced to respond with strong force, that IDF strikes would continue, and that explosions would be heard across the area. The military added that there was no change for now in civilian home-front defense instructions.
