Five Israeli soldiers wounded by explosive drone strikes in southern Lebanon
A Hezbollah-style explosive drone attack in southern Lebanon wounded five Israeli soldiers on Wednesday morning, one of them seriously. The Israel Defense Forces said two soldiers were moderately wounded and two more were lightly wounded after the first drone detonated near a tank belonging to the Givati Brigade combat team in the Tabnit area around 6:00 a.m.
According to the report, shrapnel from that blast injured the four soldiers, who were evacuated by helicopter for medical treatment. Minutes later, a second explosive drone struck an evacuation vehicle, wounding another soldier, who was also airlifted for treatment.
The Galilee Medical Center said three of the wounded were brought there, including the soldier in serious condition. The article did not say where the other two were taken.
In response, IDF forces fired artillery at terrorist infrastructure in the area. The incident took place during what the article described as a ceasefire period.
