The Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday that five soldiers were wounded in southern Lebanon after explosive drones struck them, including one in serious condition, two in moderate condition, and two lightly wounded. All were evacuated by helicopter to hospital, and their families were notified.
According to the military, the first drone detonated around 6:00 a.m. near a tank belonging to the Givati Brigade combat team, which is operating in southern Lebanon under Division 36. That blast wounded four soldiers. Hezbollah operatives then apparently waited for the evacuation force, and a second explosive drone was launched minutes later at the troops who had been called in to treat and evacuate the wounded. One soldier was injured in that second incident.
In response, IDF forces shelled terrorist infrastructure in the area with artillery fire. The incident occurred during a ceasefire, as highlighted by the headline. No further details were immediately provided on the condition of the wounded beyond the military’s initial report.
