IDF Kills Hezbollah Fighters After They Emerged From Cover in Southern Lebanon
Earlier on Thursday, IDF forces from the Golani Brigade combat team, operating under the 36th Division in the Zawtar al-Sharqiyah area, identified five Hezbollah operatives who posed a threat to troops in the security zone. The army said the fighters were later eliminated.
In a separate incident, troops from the Commando Brigade combat team operating on the Ali Taher ridge identified an armed Hezbollah operative who also threatened forces in the same security area. After the identification, the Air Force struck, and the troops on the ground fired at the operatives, killing them to remove the threat.
The IDF said its forces are operating on the Ali Taher ridge and are preventing Hezbollah fighters from leaving underground infrastructure or moving around the ridge. The military said it will not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or its forces and will continue acting against immediate threats.
