IDF strike kills seven Hezbollah operatives moving weapons near Israeli forces in south Lebanon
The Israeli Air Force, guided by soldiers from the Egoz Unit, struck and killed seven Hezbollah operatives earlier today in southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, the men had been transferring weapons near the security zone where Israeli forces are operating.
The weapons were brought into a building in the Al-Manzala area. The IDF said the site had been used as a fighting position and an observation post over Israeli troops, and that the operatives were working from it for military purposes while preparing to attack Israeli forces.
The army said the presence of both the operatives and the weapons inside the position created a threat to its troops. In a statement, the IDF said, “The IDF will not allow the terrorist organization Hezbollah to harm the citizens of the State of Israel and its forces, and will continue to act to remove threats.”
