IDF Eliminates Senior Hamas Commanders in Gaza Strikes

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted two targeted airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Friday, eliminating two senior Hamas operatives. The strikes are part of an ongoing effort to neutralize immediate threats in the region.

In the Nuseirat area, Ibrahim Fuzi Ismail Mahsan, identified as a Nohba battalion commander within Hamas's military wing, was killed. The second strike, in Khan Yunis, resulted in the death of Muhammad Kamel Suleiman Mohsen, another operative in the organization's military wing. The IDF stated that both individuals were actively involved in advancing terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.

According to the IDF, these operatives were also working to restore Hamas's military capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire agreement that took effect several months ago. The airstrikes were intended to remove the immediate threat posed by the operatives to IDF forces operating in the area. Southern Command forces are deployed in the region and will continue to act to remove any immediate threats.

These assassinations follow a series of recent operations by the IDF in Gaza. Last weekend, the military eliminated a company commander from the Deir al-Balah battalion who was leading efforts to restore Hamas's underground infrastructure. In recent weeks, several other senior commanders have been killed, including an operative involved in the October 7th massacre and the holding of Israeli hostages.

Simultaneously, forces from the Southern Brigade and the Yahalom unit are continuing to seal underground tunnels in Gaza to neutralize the terror organizations' tunnel network and prevent its restoration. The operational activity in the Strip continues in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, focusing on removing immediate threats to IDF forces and the Israeli population.
