IDF Eliminates Hamas Financial Network Commander and Sniper
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on September 25, 2026, that it had eliminated two Hamas operatives during recent strikes in the Gaza Strip. The operations, conducted on September 24, targeted the areas of Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis.
In Deir al-Balah, Jabr Moqbel, who led the "Moqbel" exchange network, was killed. According to the IDF, this network transferred millions of shekels in foreign currency for Hamas, which used the funds to finance militants, rebuild military infrastructure, and prepare attacks against Israeli soldiers. The military emphasized its ongoing efforts to target the group's financial channels to prevent the restoration of its capabilities.
During a separate strike in Khan Yunis, the IDF eliminated Hassan al-Batta, identified as a sniper within Hamas's military wing. The IDF stated that both eliminated operatives were involved in organizing attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians and were working to restore the group's operational capacity, which constitutes a systematic violation of the ceasefire.
