Israel Kills Two Hamas Operatives in Gaza Strikes
The Israeli military announced Friday that it had eliminated two members of Hamas's armed wing in airstrikes conducted Thursday in the Gaza Strip. In the Deir al-Balah region, the IDF stated it killed Jaber Maqbel, who allegedly headed a currency exchange network that transferred millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas. The IDF claims these funds were used to pay terrorists, rebuild military infrastructure, and prepare attacks against Israeli forces.
During a separate strike in Khan Younis, the army eliminated Hassan al-Batta, described as a Hamas sniper. The IDF asserts both men were recently involved in preparing attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians, and in restoring Hamas's capabilities, "in systematic violation of the ceasefire."
The military stated its forces remain deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to act against any immediate threats.
