IDF Eliminates Hamas Financial Operative in Gaza Strike
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday the elimination of Jabir Makbel, a Hamas operative responsible for a money exchange network that funneled millions of shekels to the terror organization. The strike occurred in the Deir al-Balah area of the Gaza Strip.
Makbel led the 'Makbel' exchange network, which facilitated the transfer of foreign currency to Hamas. According to the IDF, these funds were used by the organization to finance terrorists, rebuild military infrastructure, and advance terror plots against Israeli forces.
The IDF stated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to target Hamas's financial capabilities and prevent the rebuilding of its military infrastructure and operational capacity. The military reiterated its commitment to disrupting the terror group's funding mechanisms.
