IDF Eliminates Hamas Financier and Sniper in Gaza Strikes
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday, September 24, that it had eliminated Jabbar Maqbal, a Hamas military wing operative, in a targeted strike in Deir al-Balah. Maqbal managed the "Maqbal" exchange office network, through which millions of shekels in foreign currency were transferred to Hamas. These funds were reportedly used by the organization for financing terrorists, rebuilding military infrastructure, and preparing attacks against Israeli soldiers.
In a separate strike the previous day in the Khan Yunis area, the IDF eliminated Hassan al-Batta, a sniper in the Hamas military wing. Both Maqbal and al-Batta were reportedly involved in preparing attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians, as well as restoring the organization's capabilities, in violation of the ceasefire. The strikes were conducted by air with the aim of neutralizing these threats.
