IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander, Sniper in Gaza Strikes
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Thursday that it had eliminated two Hamas terrorists in separate strikes in the Gaza Strip. The operation targeted individuals involved in funding and military activities against Israel.
In Deir al-Balah, the IDF killed Jabr Makbel, a terrorist in Hamas's military wing. Makbel led the 'Makbel' exchange network, which allegedly transferred millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas. The IDF stated these funds were used to finance terrorism, rebuild military infrastructure, and advance terror plots against Israeli forces. The military emphasized its ongoing efforts to disrupt Hamas's financing capabilities.
A separate strike in Khan Younis eliminated Hassan Albata, identified as a sniper in Hamas's military wing. The IDF reported that both terrorists were actively advancing terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians and were working to restore the organization's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire.
The strikes were conducted from the air to neutralize immediate threats. IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats, according to the military.
