Teenager Drowns Off Ashkelon Beach After Rescue of Two Companions
The body of 17-year-old Imad Abdel Aziz Al-Kharabsha, from the Al-Far'a area near the Bedouin town of Hura in the Negev, was recovered Saturday morning on a beach in Ashkelon. He had gone missing after entering the sea with two friends on Friday evening. Rescue teams managed to save the two companions, but Al-Kharabsha remained missing. Search operations continued along the coast and at sea until his body was found. Magen David Adom paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene after finding him unconscious, without a pulse or breathing. In a separate incident, a man in his thirties drowned in the Sea of Galilee. Medical teams declared him dead after he was pulled from the water, unconscious and without vital signs.
