Teenager Drowns Off Ashkelon Beach; Two Rescued
On Saturday morning, September 26, rescue teams recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy who drowned at "Dalila" beach in Ashkelon the previous evening. The teenager had gone swimming with two friends. His companions, aged 17 and 24, were pulled from the sea and hospitalized. The 24-year-old was found unconscious and taken to Barzilai Hospital in serious condition, while the 17-year-old was rescued in mild condition. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedic Yaron Kapach described the scene, noting the use of a specialized ambulance for difficult terrain and the efforts to stabilize the victims before transport. Police and additional rescue services were dispatched to the scene to conduct searches along the coastline and in the sea. Authorities urged the public to heed lifeguard instructions, avoid unofficial beaches, and refrain from entering the water during dangerous conditions.
