Teenager from Negev Drowns Off Ashkelon Beach
The body of 17-year-old Emad Abdel Aziz Al-Kharabsha from the village of Al-Far'a in the Negev was recovered Saturday morning after an extensive search following his drowning near Dalila Beach in Ashkelon. Al-Kharabsha had gone missing Friday after three individuals reportedly got into trouble in the water. Emergency rescue teams launched a large-scale search operation.
According to Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics, two other individuals were rescued from the water on Friday. A 24-year-old man was transported to the hospital in serious condition, while another 17-year-old received medical treatment for minor injuries before being taken for further care. The third individual, Al-Kharabsha, remained missing.
Search efforts continued throughout the night and into Saturday morning, involving emergency and rescue forces. His body was eventually found near the waterline. "After extensive search operations by emergency forces, a 17-year-old boy was found this morning at the waterline, unconscious, without pulse or breathing. We performed the necessary medical examinations and were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene," stated MDA paramedics Ben Zion Tetro, Eitan Lasri, and senior paramedic Yaron Kafah.
