Teen Drowns at Ashkelon Beach; Two Others Rescued
A 17-year-old boy drowned at "Dalila" beach in Ashkelon on Tuesday evening after going swimming with two friends. Rescuers found his body after a search operation. His companions, aged 17 and 24, were rescued from the water and taken to Barzilai Hospital. The 24-year-old was in serious condition, while the 17-year-old was in mild condition, according to MADA (Israel's national emergency medical service).
Paramedics arriving at the scene found the 24-year-old unconscious on the shore and provided medical aid before transporting him to the hospital. They also evacuated the 17-year-old. A search was initiated for the missing teen, with emergency services on standby.
Ashkelon police and additional rescue units responded to the scene. Police urged the public to follow lifeguard instructions and avoid swimming at unequipped beaches or in dangerous sea conditions.
