Son of Israeli Ambassador to US Stabilized After Terror Attack, Life Still in Danger

Doctors at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem have stabilized the condition of 36-year-old Neriah Leiter, who was critically injured in a terror attack near the settlement of Beit Horon. Leiter underwent complex brain surgery following the incident. Dr. Alon Schwartz, head of the trauma department, stated that Leiter required resuscitation after the attack and was urgently operated on due to intracranial bleeding. "He sustained severe injuries to multiple organs. His condition has stabilized, but we cannot yet say that the threat to his life has passed," Schwartz said.

Neriah Leiter is the son of Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Yehielye Leiter. The ambassador has flown to Israel, and prior to his departure, he posted on social media platform X that his son "needs a miracle."

Neriah's brother, reserve Major Moshe Yedidya Leiter, was killed in combat in northern Gaza in November 2023. On the night of September 24, a mass prayer for Neriah Leiter's recovery was held at the Western Wall, according to Kan Bet radio.
