Israeli Ambassador's Son Critically Wounded in West Bank Attack

Yehiel Leiter, Israel's Ambassador to the United States, has spoken out following the severe injury of his son, Neria Dov ben Chana, in a terrorist attack in the Benjamin region. Neria is reportedly in critical condition.

Ambassador Leiter expressed gratitude to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the medical staff at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, who are fighting for his son's life. He also thanked the Israeli people for their prayers, stating his belief in the power of prayer and that "miracles happen when the people of Israel unite." He added that Neria, who lost his older brother Moshe Yedidya, continued to serve in the reserves and had spent hundreds of days on various fronts since October 7.

The attack occurred on Route 443 near Beit Horon, specifically between Beit Horon and the Maccabim checkpoint. Initial reports suggest a terrorist rammed a vehicle into a police car, hitting a soldier. The injured soldier was identified as a reservist participating in a joint operation with Israeli police. He lost consciousness and sustained severe injuries after being struck by the vehicle at the Maccabim checkpoint.

Ambassador Leiter asserted that Palestinian terror aims to expel Israelis from their land, emphasizing Israel's commitment to confronting this threat and preserving life.
