Son of Israeli Ambassador to US Critically Injured in Terror Attack

Neria Leiter, a reservist and son of Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Leiter, was critically wounded in a terror attack near Route 443 on Wednesday. He is currently hospitalized at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where doctors are fighting for his life. Neria is the brother of Major (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who was killed in combat in the Gaza Strip during the Swords of Iron War. Despite this profound loss, Neria continued his reserve duty, accumulating hundreds of service days on various fronts since October 7th. The Benjamin Regional Council stated that Neria is the son of Chani and Yehiel Leiter from the settlement of Ali. The family has requested the public to pray for Neria Dov ben Chana's recovery.

Ambassador Yehiel Leiter expressed gratitude to the IDF and the medical team at Shaare Zedek for their efforts, and to the people of Israel for their prayers. "I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen. Neria needs a miracle," he stated. He added, "Neria continued to serve in the reserves after losing his older brother Moshe Yedidya Leiter, and he has completed hundreds of reserve duty days on various fronts since October 7th. Palestinian terror aims to uproot the people of Israel from their land. They choose death, we choose life."
