Israeli Ambassador's Son Critically Injured in West Bank Terror Attack

Israel's Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Yechiel Leiter, has issued a heartfelt plea for prayers following the critical injury of his son, Neria Dov Leiter, in a vehicular terror attack on Route 443 near the Beit Horon junction on Wednesday afternoon. Medical teams at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem are reportedly fighting for Neria's life.

Leiter described his son as needing a "miracle" and expressed faith in the power of prayer and national unity, stating, "I believe that when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen. Neria needs a miracle." He also extended gratitude to the IDF, the medical staff, and the public for their prayers.

The attack occurred when a terrorist rammed his vehicle into Neria, a reservist soldier approximately 30 years old and a resident of the Samaria region, who was on security duty. Soldiers at the scene immediately neutralized the attacker. Neria sustained a severe head injury and was evacuated unconscious, sedated, and on a ventilator.

This incident is particularly tragic for the Leiter family, as Neria's older brother, Major (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter, was killed in combat in Gaza on November 10, 2023. Despite this profound loss, Neria continued to serve in the reserves for hundreds of days since October 7, including on various fronts.

Ambassador Leiter also commented on the broader conflict, asserting, "Palestinian terror aims to uproot the people of Israel from their land. They choose death, we choose life."
