Reservist Injured in West Bank Car-Ramming Attack in Serious Condition
A reservist soldier, Neria Dov Leiter, approximately 30 years old and a resident of the Samaria region, remains in serious condition after sustaining a severe head injury in a car-ramming attack on Route 443. Leiter was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem unconscious, sedated, and on a ventilator.
His family and community are urging the public to pray for his recovery, identifying him as Neria Dov, son of Chana. The attack occurred in the afternoon near the Beit Horon junction on Route 443. Initial findings suggest the attacker drove his vehicle towards the checkpoint and struck Leiter.
Security forces at the scene opened fire on the attacker, neutralizing him. MDA and IDF medical teams provided initial treatment at the scene before he was transported to the hospital. The attacker was identified as Mahmoud Muhammad Mahmoud Suleiman, 29, from Beit Ur al-Tahta.
Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan expressed solidarity with Leiter's family and called for strong action against terrorism to restore deterrence. Security forces are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
